Ukraine Accuses Russia Of Sending Soldiers To Support The Rebels in Their Push To Seize The Airport At Donestk

Voice of America: Ukraine: Russia Sending Troops to Back Rebels

WNU Editor: The last thing that this region needs right now (in the middle of winter) is a full fledged war .... but this is what is now happening in and around Donetsk. Information and news from independent sources on the conflict is something that is becoming very difficult to get right now. Even my own friends and contacts who are in the Ukraine government and in parliament do not know what is exactly happening in eastern Ukraine .... relying more on international news reports rather than their own media and officials. I can say the same on the Russian side .... disinformation and denials on Russian involvement are the rule for Moscow's spokesmen .... but just like in Kiev where  few and few people are beginning to believe in what the Ukraine government is saying, no one in Russia is believing what the Russian government is saying either.

As to what is my take on the next few days (an escalation or a slowdown in the fighting) ....the Kremlin has already indicated where they may be going ..... Kiev’s new offensive in Donbass may lead to irreversible consequences – Moscow (RT). In short .... if Ukraine does not back down, expect a major Russian escalation.

When it's hard to get good info or any info, it's usually a strong sign there is very heavy action. As I've said before, I think the dynamics of the situation have irreversibly moved into the military solution state.

Givi takes a journalist to the collapsed Putoskvy Bridge,

As the bridge was collapsed in the fighting yesterday, and is right on the outskirts of the airport, the Ukrainian Army claims of taking the airport, can be taken with more than a few grains of salt.

NovaRussian TV also has footage of the fighting in Peski, so,......

Thanks for the link Jay. I am always surprised to see Givi in a new video .... he must be on the Ukraine military's most wanted by now.

I think Motorola is the Ukraine Military's #1 target, he's a brigaide commander who's arrival, with his squad, always results in a very bad day for the UNA. His SRG Group has broken dozens of UNA and Punative Battalion offensives. They have claimed his death dozens of time so far.

Givi is definatly the Ukraine's most wanted. He get's hundreds of marriage proposals and "other", every day, from all around the world.

Jay .... you were the first to mention Motorola to me .... and I have been following them very closely ever since. This brigade has been brutally efficient, and I would have to say that most of his men are local .... thereby giving them a tactical advantage over the Ukraine military because they do not know the terrain. They are also far more experienced than the Ukraine military units that are being thrown at them .... most of these Ukraine units look tough but they lack the combat experience that Givi and his men have earned in the past few months. Experience and inexperience .... when these two sides confront each other in combat .... we all know who will win even if their weapons are not superior.

Most of the DPA and LPA guys are local, and what always surprises me when I watch them, is their age. I would put the average age of most of their fighters, in their mid 40's.

Yes .... many of them are not young. I also listen to how they talk to each other. Russian .... like English .... you can sometimes identify where someone is from by their accents. In this conflict .... 90% of the time the Russian that is spoken is clearly local. Chechens, those from central Russia to Saint Petesburg, etc. .... I hear it but rarely in large numbers ... and when I do hear it spoken en masse, that is when I can tell that they are either a groups of Russian special forces or recon. Russian rebel artillery units ... when I hear it is almost always mixed .... local and from somewhere not local. Large armored formations .... I almost always hear clean Russian. Infantry ... like Motorola .... definitely local.
