Ukraine War News Updates -- January 28, 2015

Voice of America: Ukrainian Military Leader Vows No Letup Against Rebels

WNU Editor: I first mentioned it a few weeks ago .... but today it is official .... with the restart of the war my usual sources near the fighting have all dried up .... and the usual independent sources for news that I trust have significantly curtailed their reporting on what is happening in eastern Ukraine. There is Russian and Ukrainian news services .... and social media .... but knowing for sure on what is accurate or what is propaganda .... that is becoming harder and harder to differentiate with each passing day. I do know that coverage from Ukrainian news services has become gloomy in the past few days .... the soldiers that they are interviewing look like a defeated army. And on the other side .... since the fall of Donetsk airport .... news coverage on the pro-Russian side has become very limited and controlled. I will still post the updates and my commentary on this conflict each day .... and I will try my best to explain what is happening .... but we are now in a full blown war .... and news and information are always the first casualty in such a conflict.
