This is very complicated.
How do you spread blame around so the principal actors on the political staged not get a blamed or get survivable mild rebuke.
How do you keep the political opposition from getting too much credit or any credit.
This entails estimating the chances of success. This is always hard. You don't know all the unknowns. And it is really, really hard because the closest these guys came to studying military science was peace studies or international relations.
So they will have to pick a military shaman, who has to have the appropriate ideological pedigree.
This is very complicated.
Now I see better why the ancient & middle ages were so messed up.
Adrianople was a debacle for several reasons. One was the decision to engage instead of linking up. It was about politics and who was going to get e credit.
And yet, we are no different.
They have been discussing the need for this resolution for months .... FOR MONTHS!!!!! .... but the talk just continues and nothing gets done.
