Leaders Of Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France Aim To Hold Summit Wednesday In Minsk On New Peace Talks

BBC

Deutsch Welle: Merkel, Hollande, Putin and Poroshenko aim for midweek Ukraine talks

The leaders of Germany, Russia, France and Ukraine are set to meet in Minsk later this week to continue to seek a resolution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. This followed a telephone call linking the four leaders.

WNU Editor: I have no reason to be optimistic. Ukraine President Poroshenko has indicated numerous times in the past that he will never support the option of federalism for the east, and he will certainly not accept the new territories that pro-Russian rebels have seized in the past two weeks. Pro-Russian rebels also have no reason to ongoing support peace talks right now .... they are about to launch a new offensive to encircle the Debeltseve pocket thereby trapping thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and be one step closer to achieving their goals through military means.
