Putin is slowly but surely splitting the West. I bet Kiev is not being informed as to what is being discussed and is very frightened that they're being sold out. If I were them I would be afraid too.
I have been told that Putin .... more or less .... has gotten what he wanted. Minsk agreement enforced but with new borders that will be decided in the next few days. How Ukraine will react is no longer important .... and I hope and pray that the U.S. stays out. My big worry is how the rebels will respond .... they are winning this war and they may want to push the borders a bit more in the next few days and to then consolidate their positions. Putin will have to give them a lot to agree to this new deal .... either way we will find out in the next few days.
I feel there are very bad times coming for the Kiev side of the Ukraine, the East has it very tough, but nothing compared to what I think will happen in the west.
Merkel and Hollande consulted with Porshenko in Kiev prior to the meeting, and the phone conference on Sunday, according to the WSJ, will include Porshenko.
