RT: Ukrainian parliament passes law allowing army deserters to be shot
WNU Editor: If you refuse to join the Ukraine army .... 5 years in jail. If you join the army and run away .... you will be shot. Of the two people that I know who are in parliament ... both of them voted for the law. I only had the chance to talk to one of them today, and he painted a dismal picture on the state of the Ukraine army. As he put it .... numerous violations of military discipline are now occurring, desertion and heavy drinking are major problems, as well as refusing to obey orders from senior commanders. His rational is that discipline has to be restored .... but even he concedes that passing a law will probably make no difference to the conscripts on the front lines.
