Videos On The Front Lines In Ukraine (Very Graphic)

WNU Editor: These videos are graphic, and they show what life is like on the front lines in Ukraine. The first two videos were posted yesterday (Monday). The third video was from last week. The bottom video is from a BBC reporter who was reporting at Donetsk airport when incoming Ukraine artillery fire came close .... very close (at 1:23 in the report). A special thanks to reader László for pointing out these videos.

WNU Editor, phill,

Here you go:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGS-17

It's basically used by the DPA and LPA as an area denial weapon. Put a rain of grenades into a house compound, and interesection, a gully, a trench line, and while it won't cause a lot of casualties, it will create a " no go" area and stop counterattacks by green troops.

Thanks Jay....is there any western equivalent?

Yup, the US M-19,

But tactically, NATO uses AGL's differently.

Thank you Jay.

I knew about the m-19 but the most interesting thing about the ags-17 is it was designed for the Chinese.

phill,

Denel makes the Y3 AGL, HK makes the GMG.

NATO uses them as a Line of Sight Weapon,

The Donbass Fighters us it as a replacement for a small caliber mortar.

Being designed for Chinese wave attacks is the most interesting thing about the system at least for me. The Russians always seem to have a contingency for everything.
