Iraqi Kurds Claim That The Islamic State Is Using Chemical Weapons

Voice of America: Iraqi Kurds Claim Islamic State Militants Used Chemical Weapon

The Kurdish regional government in Iraq says it has evidence that Islamic State militants used a chemical weapon against Kurdish peshmerga forces.

The Kurdistan Region Security Council released a statement Saturday alleging that chlorine was used in a January suicide bombing in northern Iraq.

The statement said a lab analysis found chlorine traces in samples from the scene of the attack. The Kurds said the lab was located in a partner nation in the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group, but they did not identify the nation or the lab.

At this point Obama has problem learned a lesson to not declare a red line that he won't back up.

So we won't have to see him weasel his way out by saying it was not his red line but the world's red line.

It seems that any and all conventions on war crimes generally but more importantly on the use of chemical weapons and torture are kaput.

Chemical weapons are nothing new. Al Qaeda used them from 2003 to 2008.

They used both mustard and chlorine. The also car bombed religious procession an city markets.

We captured and held them I do not know that we prosecuted any for those war crimes due to expense or revealing sources and methods.
