Day after Obama urges Iran to seize ‘historic opportunity,’ supreme leader says US seeks to create insecurity
Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei called for “Death to America” on Saturday, a day after President Barack Obama appealed to Iran to seize a “historic opportunity” for a nuclear deal and a better future, and as US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed substantial progress toward an accord.
Khamenei told a crowd in Tehran that Iran would not capitulate to Western demands. When the crowd started shouting, “Death to America,” the ayatollah responded: “Of course yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure.
WNU Editor: I posted this story on Saturday .... Iran Supreme Leader Khamenei: 'Death To America' .... and I have been digesting it ever since. But the more that I think about it .... the more that I realize that there is something terribly screwed up here. And what is even more screwy .... the U.S. press is basically ignoring this story.

Very respectfully it is not "screwy" at all that the US press is ignoring this story. This is entirely consistent with how they've approached things. As such, it's hardly surprising.
I'm not sure how long you've actually followed the US press. For a very long time the US media has worked tirelessly as an advocate for Iran and has done everything to undercut any possibility of sanctions or military action against Iran or any kind of "get tough" approach towards Iran.
Either by design or by sheer idiocy the US media has breathlessly obsessed about and sought to undermine any military action by the US against Iran. Unfortunately the poor fools or the wicked people focused in the wrong direction. What they should have been worrying about was an Iranian military action against America and not a phantom military action by America that never was going to happen.
Perhaps that is part of the plan. The Us media working in conjunction with the Iranian leadership wish to cripple any possible American response the coming Iranian attack. In other words far from being "screwy" this is exactly what I'd expect from the US media based upon it's prior actions.
Additionally, the other members of the P5+1 are Russia, China, France, The United Kingdom, and Germany. Russia and China are outright enemies of the United States. The EU's position is the US is a strategic competitor. As members of the EU, I'd expect this to be the positions held by the UK, France, Germany, and their negotiators. As such, every known American at the negotiating table would likely celebrate harm coming to America.
Furthermore add in team Obama with his socialist Anti-American background along with John Kerry and his similar background of anti-Americanism and the situation becomes even more precarious for America.
Even under ideal circumstances an American negotiating team would have a VERY difficult time accomplishing anything useful for America. These are far from ideal circumstances.
A staunchly pro-American negotiating team would recognize they are playing with a "stacked deck" or a game that is "rigged" against them and for Iran and walk away before giving up anything else and maintaining a modicum of some dignity.
The next step would be to have all departments within the US government especially those concerned with national defense to prepare for a world in which the Iranians have nuclear bombs and are hostile to America. It's unlikely we can prevent it at this point. It's unlikely we ever could have. At one time, Israel perhaps working with the Gulf Arab states could have done so. Unfortunately we are probably way past the time when it could have been prevented.
