Overwhelming Opposition To U.S. Sec. of State Kerry's Remarks That 'Now Is The Time To Talk' To Syria's Assad

VOA: Kerry: US Ready for 'Diplomatic' Solution in Syria

WASHINGTON - As the Syrian conflict enters its fifth year, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said it is time to “reignite a diplomatic outcome” to a conflict that has killed more than 200,000 people and displaced millions.

Kerry said an effort is underway to convince Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to “change his calculation” and enter into negotiations.

On Monday, Assad said he is awaiting "action" from Washington to match Kerry's words.

WNU Editor: No one is supporting U.S. Sec. of State Kerry's remarks that the time is now for talks with Syrian President Assad .... even from Assad himself .... Syria's Assad dismissive of Kerry remark on negotiations (AP). But here is the best part .... even is OWN State Department is contradicting his comments .... US not open to talks with Assad, says State Department (Irish Times)
