USA Today: Obama makes call to Netanyahu

WASHINGTON — President Obama called to congratulate re-elected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Thursday, amid continuing tensions over the status of negotiations with the Palestinians, Iran policy and Netanyahu campaign tactics.

"The president emphasized the importance the United States places on our close military, intelligence, and security cooperation with Israel, which reflects the deep and abiding partnership between both countries," the White House said in a statement.
