Voice of America: South Sudan Peace Talks Deadlocked
The latest round of peace talks between the two warring parties in South Sudan has come to a standstill, as President Salva Kiir and his rival former vice president, Riek Machar, failed to agree on any of the major outstanding issues.
The East African regional bloc, IGAD, which is mediating the talks in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, had set a Thursday deadline for the two sides to iron out their differences. The group said the talks would continue Friday on issues such as power sharing.
IGAD had hoped to help establish a transitional government by April.

This is pretty easy to understand.
If they start exporting oil, cease firing on one another in 10 to 20 years there will be enough jobs.
If they keep up with the corruption and the fighting someone is going to eat their lunch like the people in Khartoum.
If they remain fractious, they will be steamrolled at some point. another 10 years like the last 6, that is almost guaranteed. These guys are dicking around on borrowed time.
"IGAD had hoped to help establish a transitional government by April."
Unfortunately in a tragic turn of events, the rebel faction misunderstood the meaning of "all you could eat buffet" offered at the break and all the IGAD candidates were consumed.
