Iran Threatens War Against The Saudi-Led Coalition If ‘Aid Ship’ To Yemen Attacked

IBTimes: Iran Warns Saudi-Led Coalition Against Interfering With Yemen Aid Ship As Ceasefire Continues

An Iranian military official warned the Saudi-led coalition Tuesday that any attempts to block an Iranian cargo ship bound for Yemen with humanitarian aid will “spark a fire.” The comments come amid concerns from the United States and Saudi Arabia that the ship might be used to supply weapons to the Houthi rebels during the temporary ceasefire.

"I bluntly declare that the self-restraint of Islamic Republic of Iran is not limitless," General Masoud Jazayeri told Iran's Arabic-language Al-Alam state TV late Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. "Both Saudi Arabia and its novice rulers, as well as the Americans and others, should be mindful that if they cause trouble for the Islamic Republic with regard to sending humanitarian aid to regional countries, it will spark a fire, the putting out of which would definitely be out of their hands."

They said 'attack'... nothing said about boarding the ship.

Plowman,
Exactly.

The Iranians have been pumping arms into the country since 2009. It must be another one of those evil American plots to make the Iranians look bad.

The Brits smuggled war supplies on ships headed to America in WW1. the Iranians might do the same.

Merchant ships are not to have weapons on them. Not sure how they are getting around the law when they protect themselves against the Somali pirates. So there should not be one gun aboard those ships except for a flare gun.

Iran is not ready yet. They will back down. At worst they would shoot a boarding party coming along side or rappelling from helicopters.

The Iranians could not recover diplomatically from shooting an inspection team team in the next year.

Obama would have to wave off.
