John Kerry: 'U.S. Will Defend Israel And The Gulf States Against Iran'

Defense News: Kerry Pledges Defense of Gulf States, Israel Against Iran

TELL AVIV, Israel — Whether through diplomacy — it's preferred route — or a potential military option, Washington is "intent on guaranteeing" that Iran won't get a nuclear weapon, said US Secretary of State John Kerry.

In an interview with Israel's Channel 10 broadcast Sunday evening, Kerry sought to assure Israel and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) allies that Washington will "defend them" in the face of Iranian aggression.

He alluded to the recently upgraded Boeing-built GBU-57, a 30,000-pound bunker-buster known as Massive Ordnance Penetrator, as part of an American military option that has not been taken off the table as the United States and world powers seek to conclude a comprehensive deal with Tehran by the end of June.

The US "has designed and deployed a weapon that has the ability to deal with Iran's nuclear program," the top American diplomat said.

WNU Editor: I am sure that the U.S. will respect its security guarantees (written and unwritten) to defend Israel and the Gulf States against Iran ....but I find it strange that he has to go out of his way to publicly state the U.S. position.

Bibi Netanyahu said Iran was less than a year from a nuke in September of 2012.

The White house said 'He lied'.

This spring The Administration or should we say The Regime said that Iran was 2 or 3 months from obtaining a nuke to spook or sheep people into backing their plan.

Smart money says they already have a testable nuke. What they really want is breakout capability to make several a or a few score quickly and be left alone while doing it.

After all the Iranian scientists have been in North Korea. They may have tested a nuke there already. They certainly swapped spit and technical data with the North Koreans.

Iran might not think much of north Korean communism or their lack of religion. Hitler did not think much of Slavic people, communism or Russia. However Russian is where Germany conducted its field tests with the assistance of the Bolsheviks.

Have a nice day Anonymous!

"Smart money.. ". "Regime" negotiating ploy? This is your proof of some dastardly plan by the sinister Persians to obtain a nuke and become "hegemons" of something or other? Oooh..... scary stuff. Better fire up the bombers and get to blowing s@#t up. I mean you're kidding right?

Bibi goes before the UN and pulls some silly PR stunt with his Tom and Jerry bomb cartoon (BTW thanks for dumbing it down for us goyim since we don't understand what weapons level enrichment is) and that is your idea of a serious statesman? He's a traveling vacuum salesman for chrissakes.

Go look up the 2006 video of that dangerous Nork technology that explodes right after launch and maybe you'll understand why I don't lose sleep over this s!@t.

A missilile falls apart on hr launch pad or in flight. 2006 is 9 years ago. They have had successful missile launches.

Also, some people believe in their tech enough to buy their stuff. During George H.W. Bush's presidency there was a Korean ship gong to Iran that the U.S. Navy failed ti intercept. The Iranians based their missiles off of the Norks in part.

Maybe the problem is not the tech but quality control. You have heard of Deming, right!

Some missiles have failed. I have not heard of a nuke failing yet. They have exploded 2 or 3 of those in tests or did you forget?

"Bibi goes before the UN and pulls some silly PR stunt with his Tom and Jerry bomb cartoon"

Your average pol does not have a STEM degree. They just might have to dumb it down that much.

"He's a traveling vacuum salesman for chrissakes."

He's a military veteran that has seen some heavy fighting unlike a community organizer who, left his community and it is no better for him having been there.

Any type of honest sales man is better than community agitator.
