Can anyone confirm these tanks have an active protection system.

phill,

Nobody can confirm anything yet, but yes, all models from the Boomerang wheeled APC to the T-14 Armata are supposed to have a 360 degree, full bubble active defense system,

Along with Mission Modular Add on Armour.

Thanks Jay

I kinda have to see it to believe it. And it would seem the Russians have surpassed use westerners in heavy armor.

phill,

The part that really intrigues me is the sponson like side armour on the IFV's. It looks to be about 8-10 inches thick, and is not the modular bricks of add on ERA armour,

So is it some hybrid of laminate layers, "soft layers" like aramid, and reactive bricks, that can be added or removed as a single piece on each side?

Is it designed to replace the cage and ERA armour with some added protection from DU Penetrators?
