Reuters: Kerry says 'patience wearing thin' on Syria's Assad
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday he had discussed Syria's use of chemical weapons with Russia and the international community's patience with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's behavior was wearing thin.
Speaking to reporters via video conference from Boston, Kerry said he was confident Assad's government was responsible for a "preponderance" of chemical attacks against his own people and that "everyone's patience is wearing thin."
Kerry said it was one of the issues he discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov by phone on Monday and was confident Lavrov would raise it with Assad, who agreed in 2013 under a U.S.-Russia brokered deal to dismantle the country's chemical weapons arsenal.

Even after its been proven that Assad was not responsible for those chemical releases ..
John Kerry .. i thought they sent horses with broken legs to the glue factory ..
WNU,
" After 5 years of war, 300,000 dead, 1,000,000 injured, 10,000,000+ refugees ... and it is only now that U.S. patience is wearing thin?!?!?!?!"
You don't just rush into a nuanced situation like this and start laying down red lines everywhere, there's a certain amount of propriety to be observed.
"Even after its been proven that Assad was not responsible for those chemical releases .."
By whom?
UN Investigator Undercuts New York Times on Syria. Assad Government not Responsible for August 21 Chemical Attack

thanks for the link. although it doesn't prove that Assad was not responsible, just that the New York Times put forth incorrect flight paths.
I tend to believe that it was a staged event by those who wish to see Assad removed from power ..

Are we honestly supposed to believe that Assad carried out chemical weapon attacks at the exact time and in the exact location that U.N. chemical weapons experts had just arrived to investigate previous allegations? Are we supposed to believe that Assad would risk giving the U.S. an excuse to commence overt military action against him? Are we supposed to believe that Assad would risk losing the moral high ground and with it his Russian re-supply lines? And finally, are we supposed to believe that Assad would risk all these things to carry out an attack of no strategic and negligible tactical importance?

If it was staged why didn't the US immediately establish a no-fly zone and finish off Assad? Instead Obama was caught with his 'red lines' talk and eventually accepted the disarmament deal to save face.

We assume that Assad and his military are perfectly rational. Why did Saddam invade Kuwait knowing it would drag in the USA, especially after finishing an exhausting war with Iran?
"Are we supposed to believe that Assad would risk losing the moral high ground and with it his Russian re-supply lines?"
What moral high ground? Assad's regime has committed numerous war crimes since the beginning, and has carried out almost daily terror bombings with barrel bombs. His state police has also abducted, tortured and killed thousands of dissenters.

The Syrian forces haven't shown themselves to be very competent in this war, I would question their decision making and I don't believe it is out of character for a Baathist tyrant to use chemical weapons. He also knows that Iran, Russia and probably China will support him, and world events show that these countries and many non-state groups are no longer fearful of US power under Obama.
