wouldnt you need a cast if you broke your leg seems a bit strange he has no cast
If one looks close, there's either a cast or brace, at and above the left knee. More likely it's braced and wrapped; if he received intrusive surgery, there's won't be anything that will block access to the wound.
I think I see what you're talking about Philip, though I think it's the right leg.
