Reuters: Cuba seeks end to U.S. embargo, return of Guantanamo
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Monday the historic restoration of U.S.-Cuba relations will only make sense if the United States lifts its comprehensive trade embargo and returns to Cuba the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in eastern Cuba.
"The historic events we are living today will only make sense with the removal of the economic, commercial and financial blockade, which causes so much deprivation and damage to our people, the return of occupied territory in Guantanamo, and respect for the sovereignty of Cuba," Rodriguez said from the newly rechristened Cuban Embassy in Washington shortly after the Cuban flag was raised outside for the first time in 54 years.

Looks like the US has its own Falklands debate to deal with now.
Have fun!
Britain has a very firm claim on the Falklands. The Spanish may have saw the islands first, but the British had the 1st successful settlements and those settlements have been around for a long, long time.
While the Argentinians government and people have always wanted the islands based on them inheriting the Spanish claim, the actual attempt to take it was due to a poor economy and the concomitant desire to misdirect the ire of the people. There is a reason that the military junta and other Argentinian governments have capital controls on how much money you can take out. To the best of my knowledge Argentina was on the same level of economic development around 1900 to 1940. Then it all went wrong.
Guantanamo is just a long term lease of a bay to use as a naval base. IMO lease or not, the U.S. should not give up the base until there is a friendly government, which is not run by some hacienda communists.
Once there was a friendly government, BRAC would be reasonable.
No one, who is the political or philosophical heir to the Castros, would be acceptable. Thieves should not be rewarded despite their flowery language.
