Washington Post: Iran talks drag on despite expectations of an imminent deal
VIENNA – Negotiators at the Iran nuclear talks on Monday tried to resolve a small number of issues still standing in the way of a final deal that would impose restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program in return for the lifting of sanctions.
Secretary of State John F. Kerry huddled for more than 50 minutes with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday afternoon, following an hour-long meeting of foreign ministers from all six nations negotiating as a bloc with Iran, known collectively as the P5+1 — the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.
Optimism that a deal was imminent was replaced by grim faces at the morning meeting of the P5+1. The Iranians, meanwhile, remained publicly hopeful that an agreement was forthcoming. In Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani’s office said he would address the nation as soon as an agreement is reached — possibly as early as Monday night in Iran.
WNU Editor: I am speculating now .... but my gut is telling me that besides the issue of the arms embargo and coming clean on past activities, the issue that still needs to be resolved is on the subject of verification .... more to the point .... permitting inspections of suspected nuclear sites on Iranian military bases. The Iranians have repeatedly said that such inspections will never be permitted .... and if that is the case .... how can one have a nuclear deal when you cannot verify it.

I'm getting a headache reading about these negotiations... promises of "breakthroughs", solutions, agreements... but still all parties are in an impasse.
If I'm stressed from reading news articles, I can't imagine how stressful it must be for the actual negotiators.
