U.S. Security Council To Vote On The Iran Nuclear Deal This Monday

The U.N. Security Council is seen in session at U.N. headquarters in New York.

Voice of America: UN Security Council Set to Vote on Iran Deal

WASHINGTON — The United Nations Security Council has scheduled a vote for Monday morning on a resolution endorsing the Iran nuclear deal.

With all five permanent members of the Security Council involved in the marathon negotiations with Iran, the resolution's adoption is almost certain.

The U.N. vote will come as U.S. lawmakers begin their own review of the historic deal. The Obama administration on Sunday sent the nuclear agreement to Congress.

WNU Editor: I expect the UN Security Council will vote overwhelmingly for the deal tomorrow .... but the U.S. Congress is justifiably not happy being put on the sidelines .... U.N. Vote on Iran Nuclear Deal Irks Congress (NYT) .... after-all .... if the international community is going to support the lifting of sanctions, and the Democrats in Congress are going to make sure that President Obama's veto will not be overturned .... what can Congress do. From my vantage point the answer is simple .... nothing.
