Are U.S. Special Forces 'Too White And Too Male'?
USA Today: Pentagon's elite forces lack diversity
WASHINGTON — Many of the Pentagon's elite commando units — including the Navy SEALs — are overwhelmingly led and manned by white officers and enlisted troops, a concern at the highest levels of the military where officials have stressed the need to create more diverse forces to handle future threats.
Black officers and enlisted troops are scarce in some special operations units in highest demand, according to data provided by the Pentagon to USA TODAY. For instance, eight of 753 SEAL officers are black, or 1%.
An expert at the Pentagon on the diversity of commando forces said the lack of minorities robs the military of skills it needs to win.

You have to freaking volunteer.
An example in "Blackhawk Down" made it explicit.
1st you have to join the army, then you have to join the rangers, then you have to join spec ops.
To join the army you need to by with in physical standards and have a high school diploma and no record.
Some G-dDamn people look at phony statistics like disparate impact and do not look at the whole ascension pipeline.
Their values & policies starting with the home and in primary school determine that the the pump priming the pipeline will cavitate. If there were the same number of highschool grads in all races and they were all physically fit, people have to want to sign up. Pretty hard to do when the Left talks about "The Man" and identity politics all day long.
Ah, political correctness at work..
I can certainly see the benefit of using (properly checked) Muslims in special missions in the Middle East. Exactly where could Alaska natives be used though? To infiltrate Chukotka?
Either way this is just a politically correct agenda being pushed under the rather unconvincing veil of military advantage. Those people are true believers, one can say that much.
