Is The White House ‘Too Timid’ On Putin?

Nancy A. Youssef & Noah Shachtman, Daily Beast: Pentagon: Team Obama Is ‘Too Timid’ on Putin

America’s military brass keeps calling Russia an ‘existential’ danger to the U.S.—and the White House isn’t exactly thrilled.

Every time a U.S. military commander calls Russia the biggest threat to the United States, the White House fumes.

In recent weeks, there’s been a dramatic, if little noticed, shift in how the Pentagon talks about the world. Russia—once dismissed as a military has-been—is now being regarded as an enemy with the potential to do “existential” damage to America. Everyone from the incoming chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on down is raising the alarm about a Russia that is revamping its nuclear arsenal, launching ultra-sophisticated cyberattacks, and, of course, stirring up trouble in Eastern Europe. And that talk is not sitting well with the staff at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Update: Citing threats, Pentagon refocuses on Russia -- Politico

WNU Editor: Sorry .... but I am not buying this Pentagon line that "Team Obama Is ‘Too Timid’ on Putin". President Obama is the Commander in Chief .... the Pentagon "toes" his line .... and if they do not .... President Obama has more than enough experience to get rid of Generals (as former senior Generals Petraeus and McChrystal can testify to). My read is that the White House is telling the Kremlin that there are many in the "Pentagon" who want a harder line against Russia .... but I have already seen this a million times .... this is how the White House's way of putting pressure on Russia when it comes to international/political/military issues .... and in this case I can only presume that the issues are the Middle East (Assad and ISIS) and Ukraine. As to what will be the Kremlin's response .... I already know .... "if the White House cannot control the Pentagon, then what is the point of talking to you". Bottom line .... their focus is on President Obama, not some Pentagon spokesperson or General.

Obama is a naked mole rat. He will fight other blind naked mole rates in the the tunnels (corridors) beneath the ground (of Washington), but he won't be fighting any honey badgers, jackals tigers,, lions or bears.

Just crying baby Boehner dolls.

Was Obama ever in a fist fight in grade school or high school?

Putin was. No doubt Putin learned some of the wrong lessons from it. He also learned some very good ones.

Obama has learned no such lessons.
