Mixed Signals From The Pentagon On How Many U.S. Soldiers Were Killed Because Of Iranian Activity

DoD Buzz: DoD to Ted Cruz: No list of U.S. combat deaths linked to Iran

The Pentagon says it has no idea what Ted Cruz is talking about.

The flamboyant Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate seized the spotlight at a hearing on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to grill Defense Secretary Ash Carter about an alleged document listing the names of some 500 U.S. service members whose combat deaths can be directly linked to Iran.

"Secretary Carter, I understand that the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency has a classified list of roughly 500 American soldiers who were murdered by Iranian [improvised explosive devices]," Cruz said during Carter's testimony.

WNU Editor: Two weeks earlier the new incoming Chairman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff pegged the number at 500 .... Iran linked to deaths of 500 U.S. troops in Iraq, Afghanistan (Military Times). Before him the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs said the same thing .... Gen. Dempsey: Iran killed 500 U.S. troops (WND). I doubt that both of these generals would quote such a number unless they were damn sure that it was accurate. The British have also done their analysis .... and their numbers are higher. I know that U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is running for President and everything is now becoming political .... but he is making a valid point on this issue .... if Iran was responsible and /or involved in the murder of hundreds of U.S. soldiers .... do we have a right to know?  At the moment .... unfortunately .... the Pentagon is making the decision that we do not while ignoring what the current and future top generals have said in separate venues in just the past two weeks. My money is on the White House telling everyone to "shut-up".

If one regards social variables in the same way as physical variables, then the interactive effects push the number far north of 500.

500 is already 1/8th (12.5%) of the total deaths.

I guess since it is in the low double digits it can be forgive and instead we must castigate ourselves instead.

How many of these alleged deaths occurred within US territorial limits - or were linked to use of terrorists supported by the US in Iranian territory ? Not that the game in play is without moves stimulating counter moves. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/04/13/putin-s-missile-could-make-u-s-attacks-on-iran-nearly-impossible.html
