Wall Street Journal: Turkey Says It is Prepared to Join U.S. in ‘Comprehensive Struggle’ Against Islamic State

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu says U.S. warplanes have begun to arrive at Turkish bases

ISTANBUL—Turkey said Wednesday it is preparing to join the U.S. in a more substantive military effort against Islamic State as the U.S. stepped up armed drone flights over northwestern Syria.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that American jets had begun to arrive in Turkish bases, after Turkey last month formally permitted the use of its southern air base, Incirlik.

“We will soon launch a comprehensive struggle against Islamic State together, now that we are already seeing American warplanes and unmanned drones arriving in Turkish air bases,” Mr. Cavusoglu told reporters during a visit to Malaysia after meeting his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, without elaborating.

How kind of Mr Mevlut to give his friends an early warning.
