A New 'Duck Boat' For The U.S. Marines



Daily Mail: The duck boat for the 21st century: Lockheed Martin reveals $7m eight wheel drive amphibious vehicle complete with grenade launchers to carry marines into battle

* Amphibious Combat Vehicle is designed to carry up to 13 marines
* Weighs over 20 tons and can carry over 16,000 lb
* Can be fitted with an MK-19 grenade launcher or M2 heavy machine gun

Lockheed Martin has revealed what could be the ultimate off roader - and the 21st century equivalent of the duck boat.

With eight wheel drive and fitted with grenade launchers, the Amphibious Combat Vehicle is designed to carry up to 13 marines into combat.

The firm behind it says future versions will even be able to drive themselves at sea.
