BBC: Jeremy Corbyn wins Labour leadership contest
Veteran left-wing MP Jeremy Corbyn has been elected leader of the Labour Party by a landslide.
Mr Corbyn, who began the contest as a rank outsider, saw off a challenge from frontbenchers Andy Burnham, Yvette Cooper and Liz Kendall.
He gained 251,417 or 59.5% of first preference votes - his nearest rival, Mr Burnham, got 19%.
Ms Cooper was third on 17% and Ms Kendall a distant fourth with 4.5% of the vote.
WNU Editor: Britain's Labour Party has elected as their new leader a candidate who is anti-monarchy, anti-austerity a defender of Putin, an opponent of NATO, supported Iraqi insurgents, supports talks with ISIS/Hamas/Hezbollah, has openly called for the nationalization of major industry, open immigration, and higher taxes. Wow .... he makes Michael Foot look good. I have never been a fan of Tony Blair but he is correct on this point .... this victory will split Labour and consign the party to electoral oblivion.

A-Ha-Ha-Ha! Suck it, Israel-loving WNU editor!
Every day, I read your blog to see you panicking over all the political battles Israel is losing. Your salty tears are salty delicious!
Ha-Ha-Ha!
Hate to say it editor as I generally find your positions at the very least reasonable, but it was folks like Mr. Blair, a radical neoliberal/evangelical/imperialist that brought labour to this point.
There is the smell of big change in the air.
I am reminded of the scene in Dr Zhivago that went something like this:
Red Army soldier: You want some advice?
Dr. Zhivago: Said the millstone to the grain.
Red Army Soldier: Adapt.
Choosing a socialist as leader in 2015, pretty sad. Goodbye Labour! (or the UK if he is elected)
How can you use Blair as an example of your point of disagreement with the WNU editor when he just said "...I have never been a fan of Tony Blair..."
