'Come To Europe And Live Like A King'

Trafficking: This Facebook page called 'Smuggling from Izmir to Europe for the cheapest price' provided a platform for smugglers to advertise their their boat services

Daily Mail: EXCLUSIVE - 'Come to Europe and live like a king': Revealed, the Facebook 'travel agencies' luring migrant families to their deaths with promises of luxury yachts and safe travel across the Med

* Facebook pages are used by smugglers to advertise Med boat crossings
* Luxury boats and smiling refugees used to show it is not dangerous
* Undercover reporter was reassured by one smuggler she would be safe
* UK Minister for Refugees said government would examine the revelations

Pictures of pristine yachts sailing into the sunset, calm seas and smiling children fill the Facebook pages of ‘travel agencies’ offering boat trips to Greece.

At first glance they appear to be run by companies touting for business online, offering tourists ‘reasonably priced’ days out.

But in reality, these ‘travel agents’ are callous people smugglers luring refugee families to their deaths with the false promise of quick and easy journeys to Europe.

WNU Editor: These Facebook pages and other promotions on social media are having an impact. I know a family in Kenya whose son and wife have seen these promotions, and regardless of what I or their parents have said .... are determined to travel to Germany for a better life (they are going to fly in and claim asylum). What also does not help is that these same "travel agencies" are using quotes from German Chancellor Merkel that Germany will accept refugees unconditionally. Bottom line .... Europe is not as inviting as people like to think it is .... and being promised a good and prosperous life with all of your basic needs met .... again .... that is not a guarantee.
