Reuters: Hit by new wave of refugees, Germany warns EU partners

Struggling to cope with a record influx of asylum seekers, Germany told its European partners on Monday they must take in more refugees too, saying the burden could not fall on just a few countries.

Chancellor Angela Merkel, speaking after a weekend in which 20,000 migrants made their way to Germany from Hungary by train, bus and on foot, described the events of the past days as "breathtaking" and tried to reassure German citizens that the crisis was manageable.

"I am happy that Germany has become a country that many people outside of Germany now associate with hope," she said at a news conference in Berlin. "This is something to cherish when you look back at our history."

WNU Editor: It looks like some in Germany are now waking up to the realization that they do not have the facilities or resources to cope with hundreds of thousands .... if not millions .... of incoming refugees. As I said in an earlier post .... they cannot even take care of the refugees that are currently in the country .... let alone hundreds of thousands more. This is German Chancellor`s Merkel`s doing ... she encouraged this migration crisis, and is now trying her best to dump this problem on others who warned her that this was going to happen .... even though she is now telling everyone that this crisis is manageable .... while everyone knows that it is not.
