Reuters: Russia tells Washington: talk to us over Syria or risk 'unintended incidents'
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday coordination was needed between Russia's military and the Pentagon to avoid "unintended incidents" around Syria, where both countries have a military presence.
Lavrov said Russia would continue to supply weapons to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to help the Syrian armed forces fight against Islamic State militants.
He told a news conference Russia was conducting military exercises in the Mediterranean Sea, that it had been for some time, and that they were in line with international law.

What frightens me is when statements like this come out of Russia, I know the bovine nature of the majority of people in our society and government makes them dangerously unable to understand the gravity of the situation. Responding with any measure of caution or well reasoned probity is certainly out of the question.
S. Ossetia and Crimea should have woken people up. Russians, as far as I know, don't make threats. I understand that it's a sign of weakness in their eyes. I really, really believe the leaders on "our" side are out of their depth.
Especially those sitting in Ottawa.
