WNU Editor: Just some observations from the above photo. As a Kremlin watcher I am always alert on how Putin wants to be seen with other leaders. I do know that when he is comfortable and has a good relationship with someone, he always wants to make sure that he is photographed like this. When he is uncomfortable and/or critical of someone and wants to keep a distance from them, he is photographed like this. Looking at the above official photo .... even with all the smiles .... there is no question in my mind that President Putin is very critical of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
