Daily Beast: Syria Rebels Plan Suicide Attacks on Russians
The Homs Liberation Movement, a Free Syrian Army faction close to al Qaeda, plans to infiltrate the Syrian military to find where the Russians are—and blow them up.
After more than a week of Russian aerial attacks, Syrian rebels plan to hit back with double agents and suicide bombers.
“First, we will endure the violent aerial bombardment, then move to weaken Russia by all means available, such as recruiting agents in the ranks of the regime to provide us with the movements of the Russians and the regime,” Capt. Rashid al-Hourani, from the rebel Homs Liberation Movement, told The Daily Beast by telephone.
The Homs Liberation Movement — a division of the U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army — seems ready to use tactics associated with ISIS. “We will conduct martyrdom operations carried out by dissident officers,” al-Hourani said, using a euphemism for suicide attacks.
WNU Editor: I am sure the Russian military knows that they are a high priority target in Syria.

Such strategies work well against Americans and "Westerners." Russia is a far stronger foe than the United States. As such, I would not expect such strategies to work. In order to beat Russia, they would need to completely rewrite their attack plans. In the Russian military and intelligence services, they are dealing with a far stronger, far more motivated, far better trained, and far better led force than anything they've faced fighting America.
With all sides in this conflict essentially wanting us dead I would strongly suggest America vacate the Middle East as fast as is feasible redeploying to positions that will at least give us a fighting chance of defending our homeland. The sooner this can happen the better.

If only it were so easy. They're in so deep with the Saudis, Israelis, Qatar etc the current running through the circuits of capital between them being so high, that they really have no choice. Ever see what a conductor carrying a heavy load does when it's broken? They can't afford the damage.
I stand by it:
It is zero sum.
If they leave, they leave a lot more than a sand box full of angry ants.
If they stay, they hang on to their loot, power and privilege for that much longer. The people will foot the bill to the bitter end because, as Michael Parenti said "when it comes to protecting their money, our money is no object" It's their "precious" and they'll bring the whole world down with them before they give it up.
Make no mistake B., I empathize with a lot of your feelings/thoughts on this. But we ain't running the show.
As someone on this forum said to me "things happen(ed) as they do, not as they ought."
In this case, that maxim certainly applies.
