Reuters/VICE: Syrian Rebels Face Coordinated Ground Attacks and Russian Airstrikes
Russian airstrikes have destroyed the main weapons depots of a US-trained rebel group in Syria, their commander said on Wednesday, and the aerial assault was backed by ground attacks by Syrian army and allied militia on insurgent positions, according to a monitor.
Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also told President Vladimir Putin during a televised meeting today that four Russian warships in the Caspian Sea had launched 26 rockets at Islamic State (IS) targets in Syria.
Meanwhile, across the border in Iraq, politicians said they may soon call for Russia to begin airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) group there.

On some level this might not be so bad to have America's mortal enemies tear each other apart. Unfortunately that is not going to happen. The Russian side will win easily and handily in Syria and elsewhere.
Please remember the Russian "scumbags" you are referring to make up the best military fighting force on earth. While the conventional wisdom seems to be that Russia will fail in Syria, the conventional wisdom is likely wrong. What all leaders around the world need to be doing is preparing for a Russian success in Syria and develop strategies accordingly.
Should Russia fail and we prepare for their success there is little downside. If they succeed and we fail to prepare accordingly, there are huge downsides to such a policy. It's vitally important that we recognize the world as it is and not how we wish it to be.
1- I dont like how US dictates the "world policy".
2- the ru scum will win so easily that today 18tanks from the Syr Army got burned, even with air cover from the mighty Ru airforce.
3- Ru scum army are the number1 on earth (lol) yet UCR killed hundreads of them, and without using A-A Mis on ru scum airforce. And i dont need to talk what happened in Chechenia.
4- The West (free and educated Nations since long ago), should support the free syrian people and resistance/army. Attack and destroy the 2Hitler thats names Assad.
5- Ru scums can help in Lybia, Egypt, Somalia, Nigeria, North Korea. NOT IN UCRAINE AND NOT IN SYRIA.
6- The Free and Educated nations of the West (Europe and North America) dont kill the opposition leaders, arrest people in demos, etc. Russia is a dark place, no one in Europe likes you, Ru leaders are scum.
7- Ru as no policy, their policy is based on Guns and Fear. In corruption and prison. To hell with that policy
The world would be a better place without putin, Assad, North Korea, the leaders of Iran, Daesh, AL qaeda and all the scums/terrorists that kill innocent people.
