The Islamic State's Oil Business Has Not Been Severely Impacted By U.S. Airstrikes

Figures from oil workers in Syria and Iraq along with Western intelligence estimates suggest up to 40,000 barrels are being produced every day at oil fields in ISIS-held territory (seen above)

Daily Mail: ISIS are still making £300MILLION a year from oil despite U.S.-led air strikes... and are even selling fuel to rebel groups they are fighting

* ISIS-held oil fields producing 40,000 barrels every day, bringing in £1million
* Highlights failure of West's bombing campaign on refineries and pipelines
* Jihadis have adapted by creating hundreds of small facilities to refine oil
* Syrian rebel commander admits he is forced to buy diesel from ISIS areas
* He said: 'It's a situation that makes you laugh and cry. We have no choice'

The Islamic State is still making more than £320million a year from oil despite the U.S.-led bombing campaign that was meant to break up the insurgency.

Figures from oil workers in Syria and Iraq along with Western intelligence estimates suggest up to 40,000 barrels are being produced every day in ISIS-held territory.

This output – which generates around £1million a day in revenue – highlights a stark failure of the year-long coalition air strikes which have repeatedly targeted the group's refineries and pipelines.

The situation has become so perverse that one Syrian rebel commander admitted he is forced to buy diesel from ISIS areas while fighting the terror group.

Update: Isis Inc: how oil fuels the jihadi terrorists -- Financial Times

WNU Editor: So much for U.S. air strikes in the past year. That is why I am willing to bet that in the next few months the Islamic State's oil business is going to be shut down by Russian air strikes .... and they will succeed because they will not be following the same rules of engagement that the Americans must follow. I can hear the Russian commander now .... if you are flying over ISIS territory, and if you see a truck that looks like an oil truck .... bomb it.

Further proof that the American campaign against ISIS is a make-believe.

WNU Editor,

When ISIL came charging out of Syria into the Border Areas, President Obama, infamously said to the NYT:

"president added, “that we did not just start taking a bunch of airstrikes all across Iraq as soon as ISIL came in was because that would have taken the pressure off of [Prime Minister Nuri Kamal] al-Maliki."

So thousands of Kurds, Christians, Yardzidi's Syrians and Iraqi's were allowed to be slaughtered,

So that the U.S. could engineer u democratic regime change in Iraq.

The U.S. has no interest in defeating ISIS.

They are too "usefull".

If I were to believe DOD news, the fall of Ramadi is right around the corner. 3 months tops.

I almost believe that if ISIS literally armed men with pee shooters, the military would target those before mortars and machine guns. They would work very hard at it and the statistics too. If that is what the polticos ordered them to do.

This is why I believe the Iranians are not the only ones adhering to an ideology. A crazy one at that.

And there is no way this oil would move unless the boss wanted it to. No way.
Rules of engagement, or any others, notwithstanding.

Even NAZI Germany's oil and fuel production/distribution chain was bombed. Constantly. Yet hundreds of trucks can run back and forth daily, and fields can produce unmolested?!

These hacks trying to 'splain away this crap are nauseating.

WNU Editor,
You're damn right Russian ROE are different. The Russians aren't there to run cover for those dirty @#$%er%$&##rs. They're there to kill them. It's one of the only "good" things happening right now.

NAZI oil production was not bombed constantly, but it was bombed.

After one particular raid form North Africa to Ploesti, it took the Air Force a long whole to recuperate. There were a lot of losses.

Still your point is well taken. There are enough resources. One wonders if they have the will.

RRH said...

Yep. Not constant, but certainly concentrated when they put their minds to it. Ploesti was a rough one and it's a relevant point you brought up. ISIS has nothing near the NAZI capacity to inflict losses on attacking aircraft.

This whole thing stinks.

And now Queen Cankles of Benghazi is telling His O'ness to stand up to Russia.
