While Russia And Iran Are Increasing Their Involvement In Syria, The CIA-Armed Rebels Are Defeating Assad's Army

Micahel Weiss, Daily Beast: CIA-Armed Rebels March On Assad Homeland

The Russian bombs were supposed to be helping Syria’s dictator. Instead, the rebels are advancing.

Three weeks of Russian aerial bombardment in Syria hasn't exactly helped the Bashar al-Assad regime in its push north of Damascus. Social media has for the last three weeks been awash with images of burning Syrian Arab Army tanks, all wrecked by a tactically powerful anti-tank missile, the BGM-71 TOW, supplied (via Saudi Arabia) by the United States to certain CIA-backed anti-Assad militias.

Yesterday, two large rebel umbrella groups—Jaysh al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), a large consortium of Islamists which includes the official Syrian al-Qaeda franchise, and the Free Syrian Army, an admittedly catchall category but one that includes 39 CIA-vetted TOW recipients—announced a major counteroffensive.

The push is taking place in northern Hama and the eastern hills of Latakia. This coastal province is the Assad family’s homeland—and the area where Russia has constructed a forward operation base and headquarters for its Syrian adventure. Far from being pushed out, the rebels are actually pushing in on Moscow’s military fief in the Levant. ISIS, which Russia disingenuously claims to be focusing its fire and steel on, has also gobbled up geography in Aleppo.

WNU Editor: The anti-Assad coalition is made up of a lot of people .... and they have the boots and the will to win on the ground .... what has been lacking is the military equipment. If reports that the U.S. and its Arab allies are escalating military shipments and supplies to the rebels are true (coupled with other support) .... it will have an impact on the battlefield, a fact that Michael Weiss and others are noticing.

Well, it will be interesting if the US and their repressive monarchist, ISIL funding buddies, the Saudis, will actually force regime-change in Syria.

I Think that this information, that the Saudi-supported belligerents are winning is completely false information.

If I am correct, this false info is a sign of increasing delusion and disorganization
On the part of the US empire.

WNU Editor,

The War Nerds are all over frame by frame analysis of the Vids. They have found "berm shots" claimed as kills, questionable dates, times and locations, and "mobility" kills and bank shots called as tank kills. The so called "slaughter" vid which claims 37 tank and BMP kills, turned out to be 13 "kills", mostly mobility kills, with only two "brew ups".

In contrast, the SAA released a vid of 3 T-72's in an urban setting, wher in the central T-72 takes three clear TOW hits, and keeps moving and fighting.

On all sides the propaganda machines are running at full bore.

Jay .... ever since the Russians got involved the videos coming out of this war zone have literally exploded. The propaganda/disinformation war is definitely now in full swing.

WNU Editor,

It was in full swing before Russia got involved, with the head of Human Rights Watch trying to "sell" photo's of IAF destruction in Gaza, as supposed barrel bomb attacks in Syria.

Meanwhile, the U.S. and Russia take out the ISIS Oil Business, Russia after 3 weeks, the U.S. after 5 years.

Jay. The destruction of the Islamic State's oil fields is very telling. I know the excuse from Washington last year was that hitting these sites would only cause civilian casualties. But Russia has clearly changed the dynamics on what to strike and what not to strike .... and the U.S. is being forced to act accordingly .... while taking credit.
