Victor David Hanson: Why the Iran Deal Ensures War
The Iran agreement will remake the Middle East — for the worse.
Here are several scenarios the Obama administration may be entertaining as it pursues its diplomacy in the Middle East. It may believe that the new agreement with Iran will lead to “engagement” with reform-minded theocrats. The idea is that this will insidiously liberalize the regime, empower a younger generation of pro-Western reformers, and put the theocracy on “an arc of history” back into the “family of nations.” Or perhaps an Obama-inspired second green revolution will overthrow the regime, and we will see a Euro-socialist Iranian republic renounce nuclear weapons — or at least, having inherited custodianship of the existing arsenal, oversee it in the fashion of democratic Israel or France.
WNU Editor: It is hard to believe that the situation in the Middle East can get worse .... but if Victor David Hanson is to believed .... it will. What's my take .... I cannot help but sense that as bad as the Sunni - Shiite conflict has been, it is about to get worse. For the next year Syria is going to be the focal point of this conflict, and I suspect that the bloodshed will be far worse as Russia/Iran escalate their involvement while Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states escalate their support of the Syrian rebels. After that .... my prediction is that all bets will be off .... and it would not surprise me if Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States will then be pressured to stop their support of these insurgent groups .... or else. It is that "or else" that gives me pause.

Any other news about the russian plane that was shot down? Any confirmation or denying of this?
Rhaegar. There is no confirmation of proof that a Russian plane was shot down (so far).
I suppose they're hoping for an Iranian Gorbachev, but that would naturally come much later in the cycle.
It has been worse than now. ( the fall of the ottoman empire during the great war period.) ..Damascus finally got captured by the British after a long and bloody hell war the number of confirm deads is unknown .I apologize if anything is miss expelling English is not my first language..
