Fort Bragg Put On Alert After Soldier Shows Up in A Halloween Suicide Bomber Costume

Daily Mail: Terror scare at US Army base after soldier turned up in a suicide bomber Halloween costume

* Unidentified soldier caused lockdown at guarded checkpoint at Fort Bragg
* He was wearing a Halloween costume that looked like an explosive vest
* Bomb squad had to clear the site in case the terror threat was real
* It is not known whether the soldier will be punished

A soldier caused a terror scare at a US Army base last night after dressing up as a suicide bomber for Halloween.

The unidentified serviceman tried to walk through one of Fort Bragg's guarded checkpoints wearing a costume that looked like an explosive vest, military officials said.

Part of the North Carolina base, which is home to airborne and special operations forces, was put on lockdown last night as explosives experts cleared the site in case the threat was real.
