David Axe, Daily Beast: Putin Blasts Syria With New Stealth Missile—and Shows the World He Can Strike From 1,700 Miles Away
It wasn’t that long ago that the U.S. Air Force seemed to be the only one capable of attacking from half a continent away. Then came Russia’s ‘anti-ISIS’ strikes.
Russia apparently deployed for the first time a new, radar-evading cruise missile during its massive Nov. 17 heavy bomber raid on Syria.
The Kh-101 long-range cruise missile, which reportedly packs an 800-pound warhead and can fly no less than 1,700 miles under satellite guidance, has been in development by Russia’s cash-strapped aerospace industry for three decades. Now that it’s apparently combat-ready, Moscow can claim to possess a global strike capability that before, only the United States possessed.
Russia’s mid-November bomber raid startled observers at least as much as did Moscow’s initial deployment of warplanes to Syria in late September and its subsequent barrage of sea-launched cruise missiles at rebel forces in October.
WNU Editor: If these reports are true it would mean that Russia now has a global—and stealthy—aerial strike capability. The U.S. is the only other country that has this ability .... a monopoly that it appears it no longer has.

Pretty cool and only about 35 years after the US developed the same capability.
The KH-55 family of Cruise Missiles went Operational the same year as the Tomahawk Family of cruise missiles.
Other that being used in Chechnia with out much notice, this is the first time they have been "fired in anger", and the MIC and the MSM is hyperventilating because their demonstrated abilities exceed what was believed about the missiles,
And exceeds the abilities of Cruise missiles in Western Arsenals by a significant factor.
I find it hard to believe the Russians can manufacture any high quality weapon...
Well, keep believing that.
Russian's haven't produced high quality weapons???
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
T34 scourge of the Wehrmacht.
Il 2 Sturmovik. Flying scourge of the Wehrmacht.
SU 25 Frogfoots. Bane of Wahhibi a$$+@\#$ for four decades and still going strong.
AK 47... Nuff said.
RPG 2 through 29. Ubiquitous, simple, effective, deadly.
Sagger and Kornet anti tank missiles. Ask the Israelis about these "low quality" weapons.
The above mentioned are just a taste of tested and proven quality Russian weapons systems. I'm positive Jay could rattle off dozens more.
Hell, even "low quality" T series tanks (my personal favourites 55 and 72) are running and fighting like champs in numerous countries.
