RT: Lavrov cancels Turkey visit over downing of Russian military jet

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has canceled his visit to Istanbul, due on Wednesday, after a Russian Su-24 jet was downed over Syria by a Turkish F-16 fighter.

“A decision has been made to cancel the meeting at the level of Russian and Turkish foreign ministers, which was planned to be held tomorrow in Istanbul,” Lavrov told reporters.

The minister also pointed out the increasing level of the terror threat in Turkey, which is “not lower than in Egypt.” Lavrov said the ministry recommends Russians to refrain from visiting Turkey.

WNU Editor: Diplomacy and getting involved in talks is the last thing on the minds of the Russian government right now. Russian officials are now also warning Russian citizens to leave Turkey, or to not go there if they have made plans.

Editor,

No one uninterested in pushing up daisies should be travelling to Turkey. In fact, if the foolishness doesn't stop, it isn't going to matter where we are. People need to wake up from the Walt Disney 20,000 Leagues Under tthe Sea Submarine Adventure Ride they've been living over here and get plugged into reality quick, fast and in a hurry.

What are we at? About 2 minutes to midnight you figure?

I would disagree- while this is a major incident, I wouldn't say that it brings us particularly close to a Nuclear coflict... Have a look at this article on the subject of where a nuclear war would likely kick off, I found it a very interesting read:

Thanks for the infprmation. Read the article, then and now. The is however, in my opinion, something missing.

The article mentions this as an "isolated incident". I'm not willing to see it as such. The bombing of the power lines into Crimea and the "agrieved" Tartar "guards" keeping repairs from being done (though I'm not so sure how hard they have to perform such keeping) and Ukrainian arms to Islamo-fascists in Syria, among other things, has me believing the Turks -with blessings- are making this a nightmare scenario.

Sultan Erdogan is a religious radical with an irredentist agenda. The Ukrops are fascists/right wing nationalist radicals (well, Porky is just a corrupt anti Russian oligarch playing a role). Both are allied to and backed by a radical cabal of imperialists in the U.S. and elsewhere.

All support Islamofascism one way or another.

All are an existential threat to Russia.

This situation is quickly getting out of hand and demands a civil society intervention. Sadly, civil society is too busy on the whole, role playing.
