Reuters: Two blasts kill 23 people in Syrian city of Latakia, monitor says
At least 23 people were killed and 40 wounded in two explosions in the Syrian city of Latakia on Tuesday, a monitoring group said, in one of the bloodiest attacks on President Bashar al-Assad's coastal stronghold.
The blasts hit two separate areas of the city, one from rocket fire and the other either from a rocket or a planted explosive device, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
With many of the wounded in serious condition, the death toll was expected to rise, said the Observatory, which monitors the war using sources on the ground.
Syria's government condemned what it called "terrorist" attacks on the city, state television reported in a newsflash, giving no further details. The government refers to all rebels fighting against it in the four-year civil war as terrorists.
WNU Editor: I have been saying the same thing for the past few weeks .... the Syrian war is now entering a new phase, and in this new phase the violence and bloodshed is increasingly exponentially with both sides now going "full-at-it" in almost every part of the country.

WNU Editor,
It's not the first terrorist attack in Latakia, nor will it be the last.

Every Government town and city, and every large pro-Government rally, even the elections have been the targets of suicide bombers, Car bombs, sporadic mortar attacks and rocket attacks.
There also have been hundreds of assasinations and targetted shooting attacks, and home invasions.
