CBS: Mixed response from Russia to downed fighter jet
ISTANBUL, Turkey -- A day after Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet over Syria, Moscow said both of its pilots ejected the stricken aircraft and one of them had survived and made it safely to a Russian base in the war-torn country.
Vladimir Putin's government also made it clear that it was prepared to take aim at any foreign planes that threatened Russian aircraft in the future, and they said they would move advanced weapons into place to back up the threat.
But as CBS News correspondent Holly Williams reports, there were also signs that Moscow wanted to avoid further escalating of the tensions between Russia and Turkey -- and by default, NATO.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday morning that Russian leaders "have no intention to go to war with Turkey."
WNU Editor: CBS is saying that responses from Russia are mixed. What's my take from my friends, family, and associates in Russia .... they want payback .... but not now.

Looks like some payback is already underway.

Turkey Emb. in Moscow attacked by Putinesco orders. Hague and the CPI is waiting for you Putinesco
They shot a pilot as he was parachuting. The FSA had every right to capture him, but not shoot him as he was parachuting.
It was the free Syrian army, which America armed. So America will be held to account by Russia. No doubt Russia is always engaged in espionage and economic warfare against America. Just as America along with Saudi Arabia engaged in economic warfare against the USSR in the 1980s.
America armed the Free Syrian Army, but we did not lay down the law. Because they are Muslim? How many field agents will get hurt?
Anzino,
The Syrian Turkmen Army ( the ones responsible), are a Turkish armed and trained group of Chechens, Syrian Turkmen, Chinese Ughirs, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Kazahk's.
They are commanded by Alparslan Çelik , aTurkish citizen and Grey Wolves member, (Ultranationalist Facist Turkish terrorist group).
They are not allied with the FSA, but instead are allied with Al Nusra, Asar Al Sham and half a dozen other terrorist groups. They were most "infamous" for their participation in the Ildib Campaign, where they brought Turkish Army support to the table, and participated in the rape, looting, burning, mass murder and ethnic cleansing of the Armenian and Assyrian Christian communities in Ildib Province.
That such information is routinely ignored by the Canadian media while they crap out of their mouths about Russia this and Putin that makes them all the more loathsome.
RRH,
The myth of the FSA "Unicorns" must be preserved at all cost, other wise the "Assad Must Go" meme becomes WTF?
For the same reasons, the Talib had to be "simplified" and their back story erased, the entire Afghan history had to be erased, otherwise we would never have gone into Afghanistan.
Those interested these days, can just google to find all the dirt and connections. Most people don't and are happy enough in the beginnings with simplistic black and white narratives.
Jay farquharson
And don't forget that the Turkey air force bomb the Armenians till the mid 80s and from the same Base U.S. air force aid in the Armenians by dropping off some bandages
For sure Jay,
and a "WTF" moment has the potential, however small, to upset a very, very lucrative applecart.
