Amnesty International Accuses Russia Of Syrian War Crimes

Daily Mail: Russia has killed at least 200 civilians with its cluster munitions and bombs in Syria, claims Amnesty International

* Amnesty attacks Russia's 'shameful failure' to acknowledge civilian killings
* Surge in reports of cluster bombs dropped since Moscow joined war
* They can leave unexploded bomblets which maim and kill at a later time
* Group's director says attacks on civilians 'may amount to war crimes'

Russia has been accused of killing at least 200 civilians with cluster munitions and unguided bombs during its bombing campaign in Syria.

Human rights watchdog Amnesty International said there has been a surge in reports of cluster bombs dropped in areas targeted by Russian forces since Moscow joined the conflict September 30.

Cluster munitions are by nature indiscriminate and often leave unexploded bomblets on the ground which can maim and kill civilians long after the end of hostilities.

what ever happened to a good ole fashioned war that wasn't controlled from the sidelines? if ur fighting an enemy that hides within the civilian population it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that there will be unwanted civilian casualties.

also, how the heck does russia get away with this....the US would get crucified.
also, merry christmans

Obama's way does not work.

Ar Ramadi fell this week to the IA. Now there are reports that Obama stepped up the bombing campaign due to Putin's involvement in Syria.

It begs the question. If Putin had not intervened would Obama kept on prosecuting the war in a lackadaisical manner?

Would ISIS still control Ramadi for another 3 or 4 weeks or would the IA ever retaken it?

I have relatives that were bombed by the Axis and ones, who were bombed by the Allies. So I think i have an objective view of things.

I think some of the allied bombing in WW2 was pointless. Certainly Kurt Vonnegut thought so and had reason to believe it.

If WW2 had been conducted by Obama as CINC, there would be no more Jews, no more Romani, a lot fewer Slavs and maybe no Germans.

There is a saying that if you don't pay the butcher's bill up front you pay a higher bill later. I think the adage is true.

If ISIS was bombed regardless of human shields, i think they would eventually stop using them. Why go through all the work of coralling people, when you end up just as dead? If you can't answer this last question, don't step up to the plate.

The Convention on Cluster Munitions has many signatories, but they don't include some major countries. wiki--The treaty was opposed by a number of countries that produce or stockpile significant quantities of cluster munitions, including China, Russia, the United States, India, Israel, Pakistan and Brazil.
The US regularly uses cluster munitions.
