Editor's Note

I have a nasty virus on my computer. This is what happens when you browse hundreds of web sites a week. I am trying to clean it up right now using Norton.

Thanks for letting us know, good luck. If Norton does not work, try eighter Malwarebytes, Superantispyware or in worst case Hitmanpro3.

It looks like it has worked Rhaegar (I will know in about 10 minutes). But a super thank-you for the other tools that you have listed..

No problem :) I am not an expert just some tips I picked up from my friends, I am considering working in IT when I am finished with high school.

If that is the field that you pursue Rhaegar .... you will never be short of work.

My computer is now clean. :)))))
Back to blogging and reading my email.

I would advice to install a virtual machine.

I think a dual boot (Windows and Ubuntu) could be more stable though it's a bit more difficult to do. Since Linux has a pretty small amounts of virus, but if you want to do that you should backup your data. If you know someone that are good with Linux or computers in general then you could mention this to them. It has a steep learning curve but I think you will easily figure it out and it's very customisable, the downside with Linux though is that it's very manual, but it's worth a shot especially if you get it to work. I think it would be a pretty nice surfing or working environment.

A VM with Ubuntu should also work you just need the ISO (it's also less work to setup since you don't need to setup a dual boot, though I think a dual boot is a good long term solution since it's easy to switch between the two environments on startup and it also takes less performance since a virtual machine is very performance heavy, though you can switch there too. ).

Just curious on one thing MaoTin, if you install a vm and get a windows ISO on it can you use the same key to install it there as you did on your main computer or are you required to buy a new separate windows key? Because if you can get windows working there then that could work too, having the pc split into two "modes" one for browsing (the vm or Ubuntu dual boot part) and one for work (Regular windows). Windows also work well and is more up front, I just think Ubuntu should be considered, sorry if this is a long post but I think this is interesting and I want to help. If you want me to clarify more feel free to ask :)

WNU,

I hope you have 3 computers one for banking and nothing else, one for leisure, and one for work.

You must have a camera in my home office Aizino. :)

My Mac is used for my business and banking. I use an Acer computer for this blog. I have another Acer that I use to download my shows and movies, watch TV, and listen to the radio.
