Britain is preparing to deploy up to 1,000 troops and Special Forces to Libya to help wipe out Islamic State jihadists.
Military officials are examining plans to send soldiers to the country to help train Libyan security forces to fight militants taking over the region.
They will follow a team of a handful of soldiers who will be deployed to the country to carry out a 'scoping' mission.
