U.K. Security Experts Fear Drone Attack On Airliner



Daily Mail: Terrorists could use DRONES to down planes, warns anti-terror expert

* Defence specialist Colin Smith said unmanned aircraft endanger passengers
* Officials worry that they could be flown into jet engines and take planes down
* Smith also said they could be used to drag Isis banners at high-profile events
* There are already near misses every week, he said - and demand is rising

Terrorists may use drones to fly into the engines of passenger jets and take them down, a leading expert claimed.

Defence specialist Colin Smith said drones already pose the biggest threat to air passengers, with near misses happening on a weekly basis.

He also warned that terrorist groups may also want to fly their banners at high-profile events and score a propaganda coup with the unmanned machines.
