U.S. Attorney General: Will Prosecute Those Who 'Criticize' Muslims

Daily Wire: Loretta Lynch Vows to Prosecute Those Who Use 'Anti-Muslim' Speech That 'Edges Toward Violence'

The day after a horrific shooting spree by a "radicalized" Muslim man and his partner in San Bernardino, California, Attorney General Loretta Lynch pledged to a group of Muslim activists that she would take aggressive action against anyone who used "anti-Muslim rhetoric" that "edges toward violence."

Speaking to the audience at the Muslim Advocate's 10th anniversary dinner Thursday, Lynch said her "greatest fear" is the "incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric" in America and vowed to prosecute any guilty of what she deemed violence-inspiring speech. She said:

The fear that you have just mentioned is in fact my greatest fear as a prosecutor, as someone who is sworn to the protection of all of the American people, which is that the rhetoric will be accompanied by acts of violence. My message to not just the Muslim community but to the entire American community is: we cannot give in to the fear that these backlashes are really based on.

Update #1: Loretta Lynch: “Actions Predicated On Violent Talk” Toward Muslims Will Be Prosecuted (Buzz Feed)
Update #2: Loretta Lynch defends Muslims and announces investigation in arrest of Texas 'clock kid' (L.A. Times)

WNU Editor: She better clarify her statements. The Daily Wire is right when it says .... What exactly is speech that "edges toward violence"? What exactly are "actions predicated on violent talk"? In the end, it is whatever she decides it to mean.

WNU Editor,

It's just vague reassurences to the Muslim Community that events like this:

https://news.vice.com/article/gun-toting-protesters-held-a-rally-against-islamization-outside-a-texas-mosque

http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN0OE23320150530

And crimes like this:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/muslim-cab-driver-shot-in-back-by-passenger-ranting-about-isis-a6755086.html

Will be treated "seriously",.......

Not as seriously as if they had happened outside synagogues, as that would require local Police to be "on side",

But you know, Federally.

I hope you are right Jay. It is just that when government officials talk like this .... whether in the U.S., Canada, or elsewhere .... I get nervous.

WNU Editor,

As the GOP Cantidates illustrate, Islamophobia has gone mainstream in the U.S., (and many other places).

The ISIS/Al Quida position on " grey zones", is that "true Muslims" are not "safe" there. They also engage in Politique du Pris to provoke the Islamophobes.

Every Mosque burning, every time Trump opens his mouth, every jerk like this:

http://nypost.com/2015/12/03/california-massacre-victim-ranted-about-muslims-on-facebook/

"Proves" ISIS right and helps "radicalize" the community.

In the U.S., First Amendment and Second Amendment rights are not going to be abridged for the Islamophobes, ( colour has it's privledge),
but some "groups" are going to be monitored more closely, and some criminal charged will be elevated .

There were many more hate crimes committed against Jews in the U.S. than Muslims.

Lorretta Lynch is looking at the hate crimes pareto chart backwards and starting with the smallest problem.

62.4 percent were victims of an offender’s anti-Jewish bias.
11.6 percent were victims of an anti-Islamic bias.

There are more Muslims harassing women on the Streets in Belgium and elsewhere than the other way around.

"The student film, Femme de la Rue, a shocking account of everyday sexist insults in the street, is now at the centre of a political and social storm in Belgium and across its borders."

Where I live people of Middle eastern descent are mayor, elected representative, county sheriff, etc.

They may be dark complected, but here is the big hint. They are Christian; they blend; they get along.

They are not Muslims who have coreligionists tearing things up.

Loretta Linch like the previous DOJ Eric Holder will use all kinds of Tricks . to incriminate american that don't go along with the liberal agenda. Like using the IRS( american version of the gestapo .)
I don't have to provide a list of internet links because someone can say that I look for websites that support my views.
America is at the cross roads, from here you can go in only two directions at least this is how I see it.
One we realize that we have lots the moral compass and we change our geopolitical policy's
And we deregulate the states we get rid of the IRS the Federal reserve , welfare assistant programs to foreign nations . Among other things.
Or we accept , press imprisonment like Argentina in the 70s .
carbon dioxide emissions tax.
Sharia law.
200 million people in welfare.
Bailing big banks.
Reparations to anybody who comes to the country
And Inevitable civil war .. Is coming is sad
so what happened when an unstoppable thing collides hit on with and unmovable object .

Made a wrong turn trying to get out of CDG one year. Wound up driving through French Muslim area north of Paris. To say it was an interesting experience would be an understatement. I was no longer in Europe.

Jay Farquharson said...

So, which school of Sharia Law is the U.S. going to impose?

Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali or Jafari?

And which of the dozens of regional variants is the U.S. going to adopt?

jay... you are a sick individual... just couldn't wait to blame the dead victim...

Jay Farquharson said...

Well, at least I'm not a coward.

I post under my real name, not "anonymous".

During the Balkan Wars, I worked with a lot of ex-Yugoslav programmers, who turned out to be Serbians, Bosnians and Croatians.

What had been a President's Award winning software team, became very quickly a useless bunch of infighting, bitter, verbally violent crew. We had to bring in the full array of HR, from counselling to firings, and it took 3 years to rebuild a "team".

BTW, when violent extremists die, I really don't care, how, extremist Zionists and ISIS are two sides of a three sided coin. Christian Dominionists are the third side, but they just tend to shoot themselves and their families.

'islamaphobia', interesting that its being thrown around on here as if it holds weight in a reasonable argument where truth is the primary objective. unfortunately, this term is most often used to slander and libel the opponent of whoever employs it. This tactic, in modern 'pc' society, is used to forcibly shut down dialogue by destroying the integrity of a source of an opposing side before it can provide any opposition, invoking feelings that can be likened to racism or any overtly hateful speech with its end goal: to shut down opposition. As if 'feelings' have anything to do with facts and evidence anyhow. This shutting down of opposing sides also exists and to a much higher degree in muslim dominated societies or any country identifying itself as an 'Islamic Republic'. sharia law demands death for questioning any orthodox doctrine of islam or for maligning muhammad.

for example: the devout muslim scholar, muhammad hasanyn haykal, offered a controversial thesis that muhammad had received some of his visions from the devil (ref. Surah 53:19-20(An-Najm). He was promptly threatened with death.

Another example: section 285-C of the Pakistan Penal Code mandates the death penalty for anyone who issues 'derogatory remarks in respect of the Holy prophet'.

More examples: Danish paper Jyllands-Posten's publishing of muhammad cartooons in september of 2005 and the worldwide riots that followed.

obviously, there are many more examples. another word to the wise, the internet and all the things that come with it have changed rather drastically in the last 25 or so years since your balkan war experience (jay: guy who uses full name and readily displays his email address to the world).
