Are Russian Airstrikes Helping U.S. Allies In Syria?

Nancy A. Youssef & Shane Harris, Daily Beast: Russian Airstrikes Are Helping U.S. Allies

Washington and Moscow are supposed to be backing opposite sides in Syria’s war. But in the ISIS fight, enemies of enemies often become battlefield friends.
American-backed Kurdish and Arab forces have found an unlikely ally in their push to win ground in Syria: the Russians.

Some of the nearly 25,000 U.S.-backed forces made some of their biggest gains in Syria in recent months when they retook villages near the hotly contested city of Aleppo with the help of Russian airstrikes. The Russian attacks targeted other opposition groups, and the U.S.-backed coalition exploited them to gain back parts of the city.

The Russian strikes were not designed to help those U.S.-backed forces, nor were the groups coordinating with the Russians. But nevertheless, the air attacks allowed the U.S.-created Syrian Democratic Front to make advances, four defense officials told The Daily Beast.

Update: Russia's intervention in Syria 'has changed the slope' of the war's most important battlefield (Business Insider)

WNU Editor: It appears that this is the case .... that Russian air-strikes are helping some U.S. allies in Syria. But I would not read too much in this. The Russian focus has been on alleviating the pressure on Syrian soldiers while disrupting ISIS oil facilities and transport .... after that .... these same U.S. allies may be find themselves in the cross-hairs of these Russian bombers (or not).

Wow, it's rare to see someone post on this site who both believes in the existence of imaginary fluffy rainbow unicorn just slightly head chopping jihadists and is also a supporter of Al Quida.

Anon. used the terms FSA, which even the Pentagon admits, doesn't really exist,

And AN, for al Nusra, the rebranded Al Quida who brought down the twin towers and killed thousands of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's not that often you find a jihadi terrorist supporter who also believes in imaginary creatures ; ).
