Veterans group expresses outrage at unlawful killing investigation despite fact that lethal shot prevented insurgent firing rocket propelled grenade at British base.
A British sniper is being investigated for shooting dead an Iraqi insurgent preparing to fire a rocket propelled grenade because he did not shout a warning, according to a pressure group representing former members of the armed forces.
The group, UK Veterans One Voice, says the unidentified soldier is the subject of an inquiry by the Iraq Historic Allegations Team (IHAT), despite preventing an attack on a British base.
The investigation team has been accused of running a witch hunt against British soldiers who served in Iraq as it investigates allegations of murder and torture.
The sniper's account contains no details of when or where the incident happened and could not be immediately verified.

What joke
Insane and sick. The guy is a hero. The britts are even more pc than us swedes.
Rule of Engagement are a joke if you are on forien soil and war has been wage against a group or country your country has given you promisson to kill or peace keeping by killing someone it's your job.
By killing the man with the rpg you have save possibly a hundred lives.
I think it's time for mass resignation by the men and the do-gooders pukes can go instead. Fed up with this PC garbage.

UK Veterans One Voice is a tiny group, ( less than 500), comprised mostly of non-Veterans, with shady funding, that has only one goal, shutting down the War Crimes investigations by PSNI and IHAT.
