We Are The Mighty: The Coolest Military Tech Coming In 2016

America’s troops have cool gear coming their way in 2016. Here’s a look at some of it:

1. The first Ford-Class supercarrier will take to the seas

The PCU Ford will join the fleet in 2016. It will be the largest and most expensive warship to ever float and features a number of technological improvements over its predecessors. Electromagnetic catapults allow it to more quickly launch aircraft and it has better generators for powering sensors, weapons, and other necessary systems.

WNU Editor,

LMAO over the "machete".
What a waste of money trying to re-engineer something that was perfected over 76 years ago.

The carrier Ford will deliver to Navy this year but won't be available to the service for a few years, needing test and improvement of dual band radar, and launch and arresting gear.

But this machete has a saw on one side. This could be the difference between winning and losing in those pesky Pacific jungles, when victory depends upon sawing a branch.

Jay. I am impressed by the Lee Valley machete. I definitely need one of those when I am hiking in Mont Tremblant National Park in Quebec.

Don,

That's the beauty of the Pal, any branch you can effectively saw through with a machete type blade, the hook on the end does a pull through slice.

Anything you can't cut through in that manner requires a swede saw or a chain saw.

The pull/slice also has the advantage of being perfectly silent.

WNU Editor,

They are the best brushing tool made,

And are of similar quality/engineering to Grundfoss axes.
