CNN: ISIS cuts its fighters' salaries by 50%
Wartime pressure on the Islamic State is forcing it to slash its fighters' salaries by half, according to documents leaked from inside ISIS territory.
ISIS might seem like a ragtag group of terrorists, but in reality, it operates as a government over parts of Iraq and Syria. And it hands out biweekly paychecks to its jihadist army.
ISIS soldiers earn between $400 and $1,200 a month, plus a $50 stipend for their wives and $25 for each child, according to the Congressional Research Service.
But running a state at war is expensive. And recent victories for the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS mean that the Islamic State can't afford to pay its soldiers quite as much as it used to.

Very respectfully this does not "seem like a ragtag group of terrorists" to anyone actually paying attention or at least it shouldn't. This is actually one of the most formidable fighting forces the world has ever seen.
I'm pleased to see that they are FINALLY having some setbacks or at least it would seem they are at present. With that said I'm pretty sure they are going to make adjustments to their tactics and strategies. As such, there is no guarantee that the current success or the appearance of it will continue.
At some point ISIS will be defeated. They've made to many enemies and the math just doesn't seem to work out for them over the long term but this a VERY tough enemy. As such, defeating them will not be easy and it will likely take some time. If we could get the forces currently fighting ISIS on the same page, I think we could have more success at a faster rate in defeating this enemy.
Yes. Things are tough all over.
Maybe ISIS should go legit and sign a free trade agreement or two. Then they'll be able to toy with monetary policy like a "real" state because they've signed away their sovereign... errrr, they can now be flexible, efficient and competitive.
And Allah likes it that way.
