Yonhap News: N. Korea slams Japan for renewing territorial claims on Dokdo islets
SEOUL, Jan. 26 (Yonhap) -- North Korea slammed Japan on Tuesday for asserting its claims on South Korea's easternmost islets of Dokdo, calling it an "unabashed" claim.
North Korea's main propaganda website, Uriminzokkiri, rebuked Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida for repeating his government's territorial claims over the Dokdo islets in a speech on foreign policy to the Diet on Friday.
"It is needless to say that Dokdo is Korea's territory historically, geographically and legally. Against this backdrop, Japan's territorial claim over Dokdo is nonsense without any proof," it said.

WNU Editor,
It's funny, if this were a China involved dispute, the verbiage would include "expansionist", "aggressive", "threatening",......
Tip for you:

I was not aware of this Jay, and I talked to my friends in Ukraine yesterday who said nothing about this. Thanks for the tip. I will investigate and post on it later.
Actually the major controversy on Dokdo Islands is Japan-South Korea. It's a major problem between Japan and ROK. So this particular controversy unites North and South.
Don,
It's only "news" because the NORK's said something, and right now the "Evil NORK's" are still newsworthy.
Otherwise, because the dispute, like so many other's in the Pacific, doesn't fit the "Expansionist, Aggressive, Warlike China" meme, it would not be reported.
